I am a PhD student in the Department of Psychology at the University of Toronto. My research is based at the Rotman Research Institute of Baycrest. Under the supervision of my MA and PhD advisors, Drs. Endel Tulving, Terence Picton and Claude Alain, I have been investigating how associations are formed in the brain using scalp-recorded event-related potentials and paired associates.
My current research interests center around characterizing cognitive and brain phenomena underlying normal memory functioning. Since associations between behavioural or cognitive elements represent the very basis of many forms of learning and memory, I am especially interested in 1) identifying cognitive and brain processes required for successful association formation and 2) how we can enhance our memory for associations, with the goal of developing more effective intervention strategies for use with memory impaired populations.
